SLOW FORM is a Philadelphia-based fine jewelry studio founded by designer and jeweler Em Shank. The studio creates bespoke pieces and small-batch jewelry collections rooted in memory, sentiment, and timeless design. Inspired by the commemorative nature and deep symbolism found in folk art and tradition, each piece is made to be personal, lasting, and wearable.
SLOW FORM approaches custom jewelry as a collaborative and personal process rather than a traditional luxury experience, creating pieces that are thoughtful, and never ~too precious~. These pieces are meant to be worn well and passed down - not saved for special occasions. Designs often begin with a story, a stone, an inherited object, or a meaningful moment worth preserving.
Alongside custom work, SLOW FORM releases small collections and one-of-a-kind pieces produced in limited quantities. Above all, SLOW FORM values craftsmanship, transparency, and creating objects that feel emotionally significant to the people who wear them.

Meet Em
We are all shaped by love and by loss, and more importantly by the people we associate with them. I am so blessed to be, and to have been, so deeply loved by the most precious and compassionate people. My family is in all that I do, and all that I do is dedicated to them.
I grew up in Lancaster County, PA - obsessed with animals, nature, and any craft I could get my hands on. Fast forward a few decades and my interests are still deeply rooted right where they began.
When I started making jewelry, I was initially drawn to the tactility and miniature scale of the craft, and quickly found that these tiny objects had a large capacity to hold an even larger amount of meaning and emotion. I also discovered that the things I make can fulfill the same need for others.
I adore making pieces that I know will be cherished for the meaning that they hold, the moments they celebrate, and the people that they honor.
Today, I live in Philadelphia, PA with my partner, our two cats, and our dog - still surrounded and shaped by the love of our families, and now by the love and support of our beautiful friends and community as well.
